OutreachYoung WEIR-WISE: Discovering Engineering with S2 Girls
The Faculty of Engineering, in partnership with the Weir Group, were delighted to offer the Young WEIR-WISE: Discovering Engineering with S2 Girls programme.
Open to all S2 girls in Scotland, there were 300 places available on the programme which ran in January 2026, with online and in-person offerings for pupils to choose from.
The in-person offering saw pupils attend the University for two days in January to participate in practical, group activities. We ran this twice, with 100 pupils attending each two-day session.
A further 100 places were available on the online programme which also ran in January for one day and saw pupils join information sessions and take part in online activities remotely over the course of the day.
During both offerings, participants heard from staff at the University and colleagues from the Weir Group who provided insight into studying and working in the field of engineering.
