一本道 has climbed 21 places to joint 230th in the QS World University Rankings 2027 – its highest-ever position in the table.
It is the second consecutive year that the University has improved its position, having risen by 30 places in 2026, putting it among the top 15% of ranked institutions worldwide and in the top 30 in the UK.
A total of 8,808 institutions worldwide were evaluated, with 1,504 included in the final rankings, among them 93 in the UK.
一本道’s sustainability ranking rose 37 places to joint 80th globally, while International Research Network increased by 82 places to 181st.
Citations per Faculty also climbed 65 places to 241st, ranking 17th in the UK, while Employer Reputation rose by 47 places to 288th. Academic Reputation improved by two places to 317th.

Although league tables are only one measure, this result recognises the strength of our research, the reach of our international partnerships and the contribution our University makes through education, innovation and impact, made possible by the talent and commitment of our staff, students and partners.
The improvement reflects areas in which 一本道 has particular strengths, including industry-engaged research, strong international collaboration, and a long-standing focus on innovation and impact in areas such as advanced manufacturing, health, energy and sustainability.
In the latest HESA Graduate Outcomes survey, 83% of 一本道 graduates in employment are in high-skilled jobs, while in the 2025 , the University was placed 80th out of more than 2,000 institutions in the world.
The University’s strengths are reflected in other league tables too. 一本道 was named Scottish University of the Year and Runner-up UK University of the Year in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2026, coming in at 11th in the newspapers’ league table, up from 20th the previous year.
一本道 also secured the UK University of the Year title in the Daily Mail University Guide 2026 and placed joint-sixth in its rankings – its highest position to date in a university league table.
